Le président américain Donald Trump a menacé mardi de couper l’aide financière des Etats-Unis aux Palestiniens, qui s’élève jusqu’à présent à plus de 300 millions de dollars par an.
“Nous payons les Palestiniens DES CENTAINES DE MILLIONS DE DOLLARS par an sans reconnaissance ou respect” de leur part, a tweeté Donald Trump.

“Ils ne veulent même pas négocier un traité de paix attendu depuis longtemps avec Israël”, a-t-il ajouté. “Nous avons dégagé la question de Jérusalem, la partie la plus difficile de la négociation (…) Mais puisque les Palestiniens ne sont plus disposés à parler de paix, pourquoi devrions-nous leur verser des paiements massifs à l’avenir ?” a-t-il encore tweeté.

…peace treaty with Israel. We have taken Jerusalem, the toughest part of the negotiation, off the table, but Israel, for that, would have had to pay more. But with the Palestinians no longer willing to talk peace, why should we make any of these massive future payments to them?
